A Demon's Second Death

The Sengoku Era of Japan was defined by war, blood and death. The many warlords that oversee the lands started a power struggle to seize control over the Shogunate, which started this seemingly endless war. Brother fought against brother, men were ordered to kill children, darkness seized the hearts of all, and corruption began to fester within the human soul.

At the same time, stories of inhuman creatures began to spread all across the land. Monsters that wore the faces of the dead, bearing a grudge against the living, began to rise in the night to attack the weak and vulnerable, feasting upon their flesh and gorging on their blood. They were born from the blood spilled by the war, and hid in its chaos.

But not all hope is lost. There are still those who will raise a blade against this hidden threat, people who choose to hunt the beasts that stalk the night. They utilise specialised tools, undergo intense training, and carry hearts bright enough to banish the darkness: the legendary warriors of the night itself, the Shinobi.

Intuitive Gameplay. Designed for both one-shot and long-term play, A Demon's Second Death uses a unique structured play that is easy to pick up for players new and old to TTRPGs.

Character Options. Players are offered a set of five classes to pick from when making their own characters, with plenty of options for progression while levelling up.

Onryo Generation. Create your own Onryo, the targets of the Shinobi's assassinations, following simple guidelines as well as tables of prompts to quickly generate your own.

Everything you need. The book comes with a pre-generated Assassination target to get to grips with the mechanics of the system, with rules for how to adjust it to fit your own needs.
